We are not Danish. We just refuse to argue with them.
The Danes settled this a long time ago: honest materials, no ornament that isn't structure, a piece you keep for forty years. We took the rulebook and moved it to a place with different light — white walls, a lot of glare, plants that grow like they're being chased, and a summer that swells every board in the house.
So the proportions are Copenhagen and the tolerances are Florida. Solid American hardwood from American mills, finished for humidity, shipped flat, hung by you in an afternoon. Mid-century modern with the windows open.
- Solid wood, or say so. American white oak and walnut. Where a panel is engineered, the spec sheet says the word.
- One kit, forever. A plank bought in year one still fits the wall you build in year nine. The grammar doesn't get revised.
- Flat to the wall. Nothing cantilevers further than it should. The cleat carries the load into the framing, not the drywall.
- An honest price. Made here, sold direct, no showroom floor built into the number.
